INSTITUTE MENSWEAR IN ST CUTHBERTS LANE LET BY CARIGIET COWEN IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Local entrepreneur Richard Creary has launched Carlisle's newest men's fashion store, conveniently positioned within St Cuthbert's Lane. Institute Menswear is open for business and selling a variety of top brands including; NICCE, Ed Hardy, FILA, Pretty Green and LUKE 1977. The huge stock offerings include shirts and jumpers to jeans and trainers, with a wide range of accessories available.

The former Stephen Rowe Opticians has been marketed by Carigiet Cowen Charted Surveyors on behalf of Picton Capital, owners of the Crown & Mitre Estate. Retail surveyor, Ben Blain BSc (Hons) MRICS has been actively involved with the Estate on behalf of the owners on an agency and professional basis and in 2016, following some strategic management in the triple unit and a split to create two self-contained units, he let 16 St Cuthbert's Lane to long established Salon Elysee.

Ben commented; "Following securing an expansion in to the ground floor with Chris and Jacqui from Salon Elysee we wanted to attract an operator offering high end goods, who could already benefit from what the lane has but add to what is already there. With Institute Menswear, I think we have achieved that and I am sure that once the people of Carlisle and travelling shoppers have visited the new unit, they will be back. In my opinion, the location works due to Casnaova, Topshop and House of Fraser being a breath away. People say the high street is dead, but following the arrival of Primark last year and lack of vacant units along English Street, Carlisle's offerings are only getting better."
