Retail-ready units in the heart of Penrith
Penrith New Squares is to welcome the first major companies to their new development of purpose-built units. Local couple Alan and Jacci Bulman will open the doors to their new Hallmark and Thorntons shop on June 8. Other national retailers are expected to announce their tenancies in the coming weeks.
The New Squares units are in the heart of Penrith, and are part of a development around two new pedestrianised shopping streets, Bowling Green Lane and Brewery Lane. As the main thoroughfares connecting the 650-bay New Squares car park and the adjacent Sainsburys food store to the town centre, these two streets will benefit from high footfall and passing trade.
Bowling Green Lane and Brewery Lane will also open to the public on 8 June, the same date that free parking becomes available for up to three hours at the New Squares Car Park. This free parking will help attract shoppers into Penrith who would normally head to other towns in the region, where free parking is more limited. An opportunity has arisen for local retailers to trade alongside popular nationals in purpose-built units, which are fitted and ready to move into.
